Quality Manager Placed for Global Leader in Surfactants and Specialty Chemicals

Our Talent Advisors were engaged to fill a Quality Manager role to lead, manage, and support the Quality department. This role provides support to the plant regarding new and existing analytical methods, lab equipment, specifications, technical issues, batch adjustments, raw materials, and finished products and ensures that lab employees adhere to all site HSE protocols and have the proper training to perform their job. The Quality manager drives continuous improvement for the site through establishing and maintaining the appropriate quality systems.

Client Profile

Our client is a global leader in surfactants and specialty chemicals, with locations across the US and Europe. They focus on sustainable solutions and specialize in the personal care, home and hygiene, and industrial markets.

Our Approach

Our team found a strong leader with a background in manufacturing, ethoxylate and surfactant chemistries, classical wet analytical methods, and instrumentation, including GC and IR. This professional also had experience managing the quality data in the site ERP system, adhering to lab waste protocols, and driving continuous improvement.

Client Impact

Our client had a specific need for a hands-on leader to create change and mentor a team. The Quality Manager establishes lab HSE protocols and verifies lab employee adherence to all site HSE rules, procedures, and training schedules. They manage day-to-day activities for the lab, including supervising lab technicians, scheduling equipment maintenance, calibrations, and managing laboratory chemical inventory. Our client sought a leader to serve as the technical contact for batch issues or adjustments, including off-hours phone calls, assist with sample requests, lead investigations and audits, and manage the follow-up of all quality incidents and audit findings. They were thrilled with their new Quality Manager and their ability to participate in developing analytical methods/validations and lab instructions for the manufacturing process.
