Messina Group seeks an Industrial Designer for our client in Vernon Hills, Illinois. This is a contract-to-hire opportunity.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Responsibilities include all aspects of developing custom temporary and permanent point-of-purchase displays, including:
- Generating sketch concepts with design for manufacturing in mind
- Creatively solving mechanical problems and devising cost-effective solutions
- Developing a full engineering package in SolidWorks for quoting, prototyping, and production components
- Create photo-realistic 3D renderings as well as POP display prototypes with cost effectiveness, structural soundness, ease of use and cutting-edge marketing techniques in mind
- Working directly with our team of designers, account executives, vendors, and project managers
- Working with wood, metal, plastic (sheet, vacuum formed, and injection molded) and wire materials
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Design, or similar field, is preferred
- 2-3 years' previous working experience in similar role and industry
- Proficiency in Sketching, Adobe Creative Suites, SolidWorks and KeyShot
- Knowledge of materials and processes used in the production of point-of-purchase displays, including metal, wood, and plastic (3D printing, injection molding)
- Excellent organizational skills, good verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work well on an interdisciplinary team within a fast-paced environment working on multiple projects at a time
